Uniden bc246t scanner?

please help me i am trying to set up this scanner and the manual is no help i am reading it however not understanding it i manually enter what i think is the frequency i need or want and nothing happens am i even doing this right please any info would hopefully help

I'm not sure if that is the same scanner i have but here is how mine works.  There should be a scan mode and a manual mode. I have to go into manual mode and then go to a blank channel. There i type in the frequency code. mine is usual something like 433.566 and then i just change channel and it saves it

.   Uniden has an 800 number where they help you set it up. Open Monday at 8am.  They walk you thru it better than me writing 1,000 words.
