  1. We live in a Chicago suburb and have recently experienced the same yellow/orange foul-smelling vomit, but it always occurs overnight, and we suspect that it is from a raccoon, prairie dog or opossum.  The quantity is too much to be a cat.  It appears to be regurgitated bird seed and is always found under or near our feeders.  Recently, the weather has been cool, so the heat does not play a factor.
