About 25-years ago, I took a day hike to Chiquito Lake. It is the one time I have seen something I cannot explain. We were sitting at the far end of the lake, on a large rock, a sunny September afternoon. We heard an almost "electric motor" humming sound. A rock, approximately the size of a football, skimmed the length of +-3/4 of the the lake, then shot up into the air, +-10-20-feet, before dropping straight-down into the lake, with a big splash sound.
I would guess "the rock" is still likely at the bottom of the lake.
It would have been impossible for a human to throw a rock of this size, this distance, before it "dropped like a stone" into the lake.
Really - I saw it, I heard it. Another saw it, too.
A third person, sunbathing with her eyes closed, heard the "splash", and sat up, and said, "What was that?"
Meteroite? UFO?
Has anyone else ever seen anything else like this? In the Central Sierra, or anywhere else, for this matter?
Thank you.
