Question:

Uninstalled a lexmark printer and now I can not print at all?

I uninstalled a lexmark printer and manually deleted the 100's of left over files related to it and now I can not print with any printer.

So far I have tried:

setting the dependency of HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Services \ Spooler to RPCSS

and setting all recovery options of print spooler (in services.msc) to "restart the service"

Nothing works, I can not print at all. How do I fix this and why does lexmark cause so many problems when removing their printer?

thanks

  1. Lexmark Printers are rubbish to start with as they maybe cheap in price,..but muck you're system up for sure when you have any problems with them!

I would suggest a system restore to get back all the drivers on you're PC and then try and un-install the printer through "Add/Remove" section on you're PC.

    Then install you're new one.

  2. it sounds like you were deleting items that were required by windows to communicate with your printer.  I would suggest a system restore to before you deleted the printer.
