Recently uninstalled McAfee and Adode reader successfully but they left folder each with .dll files.

Tried Revo Uninstaller,but didn't work.

Any other Way to GET RID of them?

  1. Try McAfee Unistaller http://www.tucows.com/preview/195895

    Or read this: http://www.wikihow.com/Uninstall-McAfee-...

  2. I use a free program called CCleaner -- have used it for some time and have had good results.

It cleans out missing .dll files and can scan and clean up your system.

  3. Generally...and this is being told to me by a tech that has been building / troubleshooting computers since the days when installing a new 5.25" floppy drive was a 45 minute procedure!... .dll files will not be of a concern, and are either "stolen" or cloned .dll files from other locations. In short, they are .dlls that are used by, or similar to other .dll files that are used by other programs.

The only .dll files you need to worry about are the ones that are actually viruses masquerading as a .dll. In this case, if you have an up-to-date AVS, they'll be removed after a system sweep/scan.

    Good Luck!

PS: You *should* be able to safely remove them by deleting them and the folder they are in (by right clicking and choosing delete). However, ensure that they are not being used by other programs before your do so...worst case file, it will cause your OS to crash.

Also, Revo will NOT delete .dll files.
