Uninstalling just one Sims 2 expansion pack?

I had a little bit of money and I had all of the expansion packs except for Free Time and Apartment Life. Given the choice between the two, I decided that Apartment Life seemed better and so I bought that. However, now it's kind of annoying me that I don't have them all, and someone offered to buy me the other one as a present in a couple of weeks time. However, Free Time was before Apartment Life, and I'm pretty sure you can't install them in the wrong order.

If I uninstall Apartment Life so I can load on Free Time and then put it back on afterwards, will it uninstall the whole game, or will it just wipe my game data and leave me with the other expansion packs? Because I'm pretty sure I uninstalled one before and it just did the latter but it was so long ago I'm not sure what happened.

Please only answer if you have the definite correct answer because my original sims 2 disk is broken so I can't install the whole thing again if it all goes from my computer!

You can install them out of order; with Sims 1, you could not, but Sims 2 is fine.  (I did it with University and installed it sometime after Pets because I forgot about it, lol -- it works fine.)

But to answer the question about uninstalling one, it would be okay IF you were going to reinstall it.  When you install an expansion pack, it changes the saved files so you couldn't uninstall it and play the same families again; you'd have to start all over.

Your in luck! You can install them in the wrong order:) So no need to uninstall anything. Just remember that you use the disc for the most recent game to play so you would still use the AL disc. And yes unless your game is backed up and saved before apartment life so that you can just restore it to the way it was before you installed AL then you would have to uninstall completely and start from scratch.
