Uninstalling the sims 2 expansion pack.?

i am about to uninstall an expansion pack, and i would like to know if i take my neighborhood folder and drag it to the desktop, then when i'm done uninstalling the game, cut the neighborhood folder i saved, then delete the neighborhood folder that is already there when i uninstall the game and paste my lots in there, will my families from before the expansion pack be saved? i never played the expansion pack.

Yeah it should be there. If you had any of the expansion pack items in that house then it will be flashing blue, just get rid of it.

You can copy your game data to a temporary location prior to uninstalling the game to back it up.

HOWEVER, you need to be aware that some expansion packs in Sims 2 DOES alter your neighbor save data & it can make your neighbor data INCOMPATIBLE with previous versions.  You normally get a warning message about this during the installation (& likely during the uninstallation) of the expansion pack.

Chance are, if such modifications are made to your game data, you'll need that expansion pack to use your game data even if you never used anything from that expansion pack.

In short, you're likely wasting your time trying to downgrade Sims 2 as a result.  I know you won't like this answer, but it's likely what you'll have to deal with.
