Unique things to bring for entertainment on long trips?

I travel a lot especially during the summers. I'm a 14 year old girl and tomorrow I am going to Italy so I will be doing a lot of sitting. I always bring all the obvious; books, iPod, movies, nintendo.. but does anyone have any other ideas to occupy my time? thanks!

I just went on a six hour airplane trip, and spent most of the trip playing with Play-Doh.  It was suprisingly fun.  I recommend it for the travel.
