I'm going to Disneyland next week and I want to take lots of pictures with the characters... I want them to be unique such as almost kissing them and hugging them and stuff... Can you think of anything else? Also, my cousin is only 80 pounds do you think they can carry her? :]

  1. No they cannot carry her.  They are in sweltering hot costumes that weigh a lot.  And its probably against park regulations.

Try bending over right in front of them.  Or flicking them off.  Or pantsing them.

  2. when i went, i kissed mickey mouse =) so did my cousin at the same time.  that was a cute picture.

I cant think of any other good poses....but its fun posing on roller coasters if you know where it takes the picture becuz then when you look at your picture it can make you laugh even if you dont buy it

  3. I like all the responses above, but I wanted to add a little bit more information...

Ok, so characters are not allowed to touch guests beyond a hug or a "kiss" on the head. Characters (Disney) are required to act as their character would in real life (so a princess isn't going to give you a real kiss, unless you're Prince Charming). They will not pick up a guest.

If you have a pose you're considering (like a character dipping you in dance), there will always be a character wrangler nearby, coordinating guest interaction. You may ask the cast member about what the character may or may not do with guests.

And all the costumes are really one-pieces with a head, so you can't pants them (not that I would recommend that). And as this is Disney, do not flip them off, that would give them grounds for removing you from the park...

  4. Characters are not allowed to lift the guests. I work for Nickelodeon themed characters and we are not even allowed to hold infants. some of the characters have poses that they do automatically so you may end up getting a different pose with each character without even trying. Make sure you do a pose that doesn't involve getting behind the character. (It freaks us out when we can't see you)

    Have fun!

  5. the high-5, works great in photo shoots. or the double kiss.

most photographers try to include the entire character in the picture, IMO close ups work best, captures the facial expressions.

but my all time favorite is the dorky standing side by side with your shirt half tucked in.

  6. All theme parks have strict restrictions on how their theme park characters can interact with guests. Scared of lawsuits against the park, most characters are only allowed to hug a guest, the best pose you'll probably get.  About carrying your cousin, it matters who is behind the costume. Personally, I'll stay away from getting the characters from doing anything inappropriate and getting them fired. But you can ask them what their policy is about guest interaction.
