Hi im getting married next year ( oh i cant wait) and ive noticed in the few weddings ive been to this year that every wedding is the exact same.

im looking for unigue, different and moderatly cheap ideas for my wedding. it is being held in quite a posh hotel, but all my family know that im not really posh ( though i do really love my venue) so il thinking something quirky to suit mine and my lovely fiancees personalities

has anyone else had something differnt in there weddings that took there guests by surprise? that made them go wow?

  1. how about walking down the isle to a song you like.. say your into hip hop.. as you walk in it could be the traditional wedding song. and then the hip hop song, or song or your choice starts playing haha.. you know, do a little dance as you walk down or something. whatever suits the music.. and then as you get to the end the traditional song comes back on. i don't no , i just thought it was a funny cheap idea lol.. add a bit of humor to it you know?

  2. a chinese type thing, something that brings out your inner kid, like the rings would be ring pops!

    idk, im only 13!

  3. My fiance and I are having our recpetion on the penthouse level of this hotel right on the beach that over looks the beach on the west coast of Florida.  It is soooo beautiful and romantic, especially when the sun sets with a clear sky!  I hope the weather holds up!

  4. Check out www.offbeatbride.com  Some of the things on there are too "out there" for me but some are more moderately quirky. Congrats!

  5. My nephew got married on the grounds of a local winery. The setting was on a hilltop overlooking the city. It was outdoors and very pretty.

Remember it's not the ceremony that counts...it's the ability to stay together afterwards that is so important. Even if you "pinch pennies" you will have many happy memories of the two of you and all of your friends being together.

  6. here's a cool one check this out if you see tlc channel 46 there's a lot about weddings

and do a theme that almost like Martha stewart but cheap and very formal and nice. You and yer husband should look and search for magazines and go to local places where weddings things are sold out.CONGRATS and take care :)

  7. Check oriental trading post they have very nice decor I live by the motto elegant not expensive and it always works another thing that never feels to give that classy look is candles a assortment of different sizes work nice. Take a look at www.myspace.com/flowerstoshowers I always post great ideas and pics on there.

  8. well a wedding is never cheap you should remember a wedding for the

rest of your life you should probly have bubles floting around when you

enter the room and and your should have a really preety white runway made of velvet

  9. Congratulations!

At my wedding we had an elegant, yet smaller wedding cake and then we had different kinds of cakes at each table...I placed out decorated serving utensils (it all looked very nice with the centerpieces) and people were able to serve themselves (the wedding party ate from the main cake).  People LOVED having all the different cakes (and not having to wait in line or to be served) around the room and many of them went around sampling the different flavors.

    Good Luck!

  10. I had a 50s and 60s rockabilly showband instead of the usual DJ. they were awesome and everyone from young to old loved them and it was very unexpected (although fits our personality to a tee).

  11. This is only one thing, but I love it...

Have old records for place mats.

You may think it's tacky, but I think it's so cool!

  12. We don't know your personalities, but if you can come up with a theme, you can find all sorts of ideas that will work around the theme.

I've recently attended a wedding that was beach theme, but not at the beach. The flowers were tropical, the wedding cake was decorated with molded candy seashells, the guests were given leis.

Another wedding party was at a restaurant that had a lot of vintage decor.  The family added additional vintage decor to the table centerpieces.

Magnolias and azaleas are beautiful in the south at the right time of year. If you look at your hotel, and the decor for ideas, you will probably find something that will be fun to use as a theme.
