Unit Won't Turn On. Gave a MyMusix PD-6070 to my nephew for Christmas. Low and behold the unit

Gave a MyMusix PD-6070 to my nephew for Christmas. Low and behold the unit won't work. Charged the battery, press the power button and the only thing that happens is the display shows MyMusix then powers off. Pressing the reset button had no effect. Now what?
