Unit conversion(science homework)?

i'm doing some science homework but i need to convert 55Gm to cm and show my work using one of those little charts. can someone please explain the steps to me on how you use the chart? (sorry its a little confusing)

  1. gram is mass or wate. cm=length.

    Yu kan konvert mass tu enerjee but not tu length.

    Basik rule av the spaes-time kontinyuum.


  2. Gm is a gigameter, cm is a centimeter.  From your table you will find there are 10^9 meters in 1 gigameter and there are 100 (10^2) centimeters in 1 meter.  So 1 gigameter = 1x10^11 centimeters (10^9 x 10^2).

    So 55 Gm  X   1x10^11 cm/Gm = 55x10^11 cm = 5.5x10^12 cm
