So I'm in the process of trying to get an internship in the United Nations. I am aware of how competitive those internships are, and was wondering if there are certain things I should be active in, in the hopes of increasing my chances of being selected in the United Nations. Are there certain qualities/skills they look for in potential candidates? Here is what I have accomplished as of now. I am also volunteering at local places such as the big Brothers/big sisters group, read to achieve group, a women's battered shelter, and a special education center for kids in which I play basketball with them (which I love by the way). My brother informed me that I should possibly join Senator Barack Obamas campaign. My question is to you guys is there anything else I could be doing to get recognized by internships/scholarships or things that would build upon my resume stature?
I am a Foreign Affairs major and aspire to one day become a United States diplomat.
