I was wondering if anybody is an expert on these topics. I am in Model united Nations and am looking for information said by people not just by the internet. No one sentence responses please (unless they are website links). Please I really need help. My country is India, so if you could provide specific country information for these topics, that would be great.

What has the united nations done to try and solve these global problems?

  1. This link is to a study on child labor done by the Indian embassy in Washington, DC.  It should give you quite a bit of info about their point of view.

  2. UNO should be given a free hand in all field not on those which are approved by the USA but those fields which the USA disapproves.

Before banning child labour from a given country they should provide with alternative system for survival at least to the age 18 years of a child.

Now Child Soldiers are concerned those are not it self a problem but by-product of the real problem of any country thrown to a civil war or gang war. No one except the arms dealers support the Child Soldiers. So take action against the arms dealers and arms producers for supplying arms and ammunitions to the waring factions.

  3. I too am involved in Model UN.  To understand the issue better, you must first familiarize yourself with the driving forces behind child labor and child soldiers.  Likely, the drivers will have common characteristics in all countries, like economic, political,  and social situations in a given area/place.  Then, once you understand the driving forces, research those specific forces in the country you represent.  Also, familiarize yourself with everything the United Nations has on its website about child labor and child soldiers, including , UNICEF, ECOSOC and relevant NGOs.
