im doing a United Nations Essay on what the U.S. and other 3rd world countries could gain from china resigning its post as a P5 country, and what china could possibly gain

The question should be ...what would they lose?  Think outside the box.  Think in terms of "resources."  The bottom line is where all decisions are made and China is embracing capitalism rather swiftly ...but not necessarily democratically.
