United Nations Investiagation?

Hey,

I am doing a model UN soon and need some info on the real deal.

If the UN wants to investigate something, specifically an allegation of a country breaching human rights laws, how does it go about carrying it out?

Does it have an invesitgative agency, or does it get its member states to investigate?

All info would be appreciated!

Thanks!

  1. I believe the UN sets up special panels or investigative teams when it needs to find out information of wrong doing....including within the UN itself.  Onsight investigation is usually carried out by UN "envoys" made up I'm sure of people from all over the world that work on behalf of the UN. Here are some sites that can help you:

  2. The UN is a corrupt group only out to line their pockets.

  3. Well here is some information, the UN is a worthless organiztion, and if it wasn't for the US propping them up all the time with money and our backing they would cease to exist. They do Nothing but centure with Resolutions that They can't back, then they have to use the US and a world coalition to do our the US military. Google Seirra Leone and see what you get. The UN in there trying to get a peace between the government and the rebels with thousands dieing and they were there for what three months or somehting like that and what happened, they called the US Marines and we sent a small contingent over there (company size) and had things under control in two days! I say get out of the UN and get them off our soil!
