United Nations: is this a strong conclusion for my UN essay? ?

Now, the United Nations has become a target of intensive criticism and mockery. The fact that a great percentage of world’s population does not appreciate the United Nations cannot be doubted. However, the United Nations serves as an open forum where the countries are encouraged to set aside their differences and have the freedom to exchange their opinions for the betterment of human race. The discontinuance of the Korean War and the Gulf War is conspicuous evidence which proves that its role as a discussion forum can function both effectively and positively. Also, the United Nations’ influential and positive actions for humanity simply cannot be ignored. A former United Nations Secretary-General once quoted, “The UN was not created to take humanity to heaven but to save it from h**l.” Like this aphorism is pinpointing out, the UN is not the perfect, ideal organization that can provide solutions that satisfy everyone. Rather, it is an imperfect organization that frequently faces problems and issues within itself. However, before blithely criticizing the UN for its imperfection, I believe that we must remind ourselves of the positive achievements of the United Nations, and realize how our world has become a better place.

i hope you guys dont find this offensive in any ways. I was forced into doing this, so yeah dont blame me :)

if it isnt so strong, how can i make it so that it has strong impact?

  1. My Answer! The United Nations is one big joke. Perpetrated on the American People! It is totally ineffective and undependable for world peace. The only peace brought into this world is by America and a few of her Allies. If it were not for the deep pockets of the American people, since the formation of the United Nations, the organization would have folded up long ago as did the League of Nations, its predecessor. We as a nation have become so politically correct, that we can not see the truth!

  2. I do doubt a great percentage of the world’s population do not appreciate the United Nations. Do you have any facts to support your  rather sweeping generalisation?

Can you point to any intensive criticism and mockery by any politician outside the United States?

  3. once it has military force to control it then will have impact

  4. I applaud you for making a good paragraph, honouring the UN. You actually made me believe the UN was good for a moment until I looked at its massive failures.

  5. I think it sounds really well written. I'm an International Studies major so.... I personally think the UN is a joke. All they do is talk and argue. Nothing ever gets done and wars still happen all over the globe.
