United Park to outpace Aland Islands in Book And Save Online @ Wetherbyracing.co.uk Novices´ Chase at Wetherby
Having impressed on both starts on fences, Aland Islands is unlikely to prove vulnerable in Book And Save Online @ Wetherbyracing.co.uk Novices´ Chase at Wetherby on Thursday, December 27th. But the vote goes to United Park, who holds some smart
chase form under his belt.
After doing the goods on heavy surface at Auteuil, the French raider is full of momentum, and hols solid claims on his British debut. G. Macaire’s charge started his career with four consecutive triumphs. His progressive journey came to a halt in September-October,
when he suffered a couple of terrible tumbles.
The 4-year-old put his journey back on the winning ways last month, when beating Uranium by seven lengths in the Prix Coq Gaulois (Chase) (Conditions) (4yo Non-Thoroughbreds) (Turf).
Another big win was bagged by him at the end of November, when securing the top prize by a dozen lengths in the Prix Nupsala (Chase) (Conditions) (4yo Non-Thoroughbreds) (Turf).
Having clinched two consecutive victories lately, the Mme Sarah Amos-owned is in great form at the moment. Based on his two chase wins at Auteuil, he looks the leading contender. The main danger to United Park is Aland Islands, who was quite impressive on
his both starts in this sphere.
The Tim Vaughan-trained secured an amazing 4½-length win at Newcastle in November. The 6-year-old perpetuated his superb work, and demonstrated an excellent act last time out.
The son of Stowaway was just an unlucky loser in his previous encounter, as he missed the gold medal only by a neck’s distance in the Constant Security Novices' Chase here earlier this month.
The real clash is only between Aland Islands and United Park, because no other horse makes any significant appeal. Hollins has lots to prove after not being at best of late. Little Hercules could improve for going over fences, but lots more is needed.
Nuts N Bolts was terrible on the previous two starts, and would be short of confidence. Simonside has done well over hurdles, but needs to raise the standards to be competitive in this sphere. Over a distance of two miles, four furlongs and 110 yards, the
contestants will start their act at 14:55 GMT.
