Hey I need a little help. I'm hoping to join the United States Air Force by way of AF ROTC. I was wondering how I can join into the program and also once I am in the program how to help guarantee getting sent to flight school. Can i guarantee it from the recruiter too? Need some help please. Any help is appreciated.

  1. Officers don't "join."  AF ROTC does not use recruiters.  You are guaranteed nothing when you enter an ROTC program except a commission as a Second Lieutenant upon successful completion of the program and graduation.

You really need to contact the AF ROTC Unit an the closest college or university offering the program.

  2. First, a recruiter, has nothing to do with AFROTC.

You contact the University you want to attend, that has a AFROTC program.

Anyone can take the first two years of AFROTC.

You have to be selected to continue the program for the last two years.

There is no guarentee for flight school.

You apply during your Junior year ( after you already have a military commitment )

And compete against everyone else who applied based on:

    Your GPA

    Leadership ability

AFOQT test ( AF officers qualifying test )

AFAST test ( alternate flight aplitude test )

You are notifed if you are selected for flight school late your junior year or early your senior year.

No you can not back out, if you do not get selected for flight school.
