I know that the drinking age is 21, but is that the same age for gambling/going into a casino and going into a club, but not drinking?

Thanks

  1. 21 is the official age where you can do whatever you want, when you want. 18 is just minor stuff like smoking(bad), and buying rated m games.

  2. i feel sorry for you! in Australia you can legaly drink when your 18. and gamble

  3. It depends on the state, and in some cases, the establishment.

Plenty of clubs allow 18+ people in, but they aren't allowed to drink.

18+ Casinos are more rare, but they aren't unheard of in a few states, but most major casinos do have a 21+ age limit.

  4. It really depends.  For example, there is a horse track betting place in Virginia that allows 18 year olds, even though alcohol is served there (to those over 21).

There are some card rooms and Indian casinos that allow 18 year olds too.  Then of course there is the lottery that is in 48 states, that you can buy at 18.

So it is the luck of where you happen to live, and what you want to gamble on.  It makes very little sense.  Either you are an adult at 18 or 21.  Having some weird limbo where you are an adult, yet treated like a child is nonsense.

  5. It depends on the state on gambling. If your talking about lottery tickets, the legal age to buy them is usually 18. However, for every casino I've been to, the legal age has been 21.

As for clubs, there are plenty of "18 to get in, 21 to drink" clubs around the US. Those are regulated by local and state governments.

  6. The age is 21 for most casinos and clubs.  There is one Indian Casino in California that I know of that allows 18 year olds but that is because they do not serve alcohol there.
