United States Marine Corps?

when you go to boot camp for the marine corps, do you choose whether you want to be an infantry riflemen or a tank operator or anything like that or do they choose for you after you complete boot camp?

  1. You never have the choice to choose your exact job. When joining the Marines, you only have the right to choose the occupational field.


  2. you pick all of that prior when you complete your contract at the time of enlistment... unless you signed an open contract.There are several jobs available.

  4. You choose your MOS field before you enter boot camp..

    Most jobs will not allow you to choose a specific job but you can choose a specific field..

    Example..you can choose to be in the infantry but you can not chose one of the 5 sub-mos's under that field..The USMC will do that for you..

  5. Your ASVAB scores determine what jobs you are qualified for, and from there you will either pick a job you want that they are hiring for, or they will offer you a specific job.

  6. I know that in the army you have to take a test similar to an I.Q test, and then off that you can pick a job that you are qualified for. The higher your test score the more likely you will get what you want.
