United States Open Polo Championship Player Ratings: Crab Orchard 16 – Piaget 9
Crab Orchard shocked Piaget 16-9 in the third round competition of the United States Open Polo Championship held at the International Polo Club in Wellington. Piaget displayed a weakened team despite having key players like Nachi Heguy and Lolo Castagnola.
Nachi Heguy and his team were looking completely inept bearing in mind their unusual foursome was conquered by the Cambiaso-led team. The combination of Cambiaso and Hilario Ulloa displayed an outstanding game on the field and ruined the defensive line of
Piaget.
No doubt, it was an excellent show from Crab Orchard, as their players put all efforts to get into a leading position in the game. After facing humiliated defeats in the previous United States Polo Association Piaget Gold Cup at the same venue, it is a great
chance for them to prove their worth. Following the victory, Crab Orchard has become the favourite team of the event, as they have won all three group matches by a large margin.
The player ratings of the two teams are as follows.
Crab Orchard
Adolfo Cambiaso: 8.0/10
Fabled polo pro of Argentina has been the standout player for his foursome throughout the group clashes. His big-game talent was on show, as he set the pace impressively seven times in the triumph. His pace, rides and stick-work were superb throughout the
contest. He was the most threatening striker who made endless outstanding overlaps down the number one flank.
Hilario Ulloa: 8.5/10
He displayed a stunning performance at the attacking position. He bombed forward constantly and marked eight goals to secure a victory for his team. He looked sharp in his game and received large appreciation from the onlookers. Apart from his massive scoring,
he was best at defence and created numerous chances for the front man.
Nachi du Plessis: 6.0/10
Apart from his solitary goal he looked like iron on defence against Piaget. He made a great deal of rides and kept the attackers of Piaget far away from the goal. He also assisted his team-mates in scoring goals and securing an impressive win.
George Rawlings: 5.0/10
He afforded an ill-opportunity to take the ball and was lacking confidence when he performed at the full back position. Overall he could not make an impact in the game.
Piaget
Nachi Heguy: 7.0/10
Heguy demonstrated an impressive show at the attacking position and put all his efforts to follow the Crab Orchard score, but to no avail. He scored six impressive goals in the game, of which few were taken on impressive penalty shots. He was involved in
everything that could serve Piaget, but could not save his foursome from a humiliating defeat.
Lolo Castagnola: 6.0/10
He remained very busy with the active Heguy and created numerous chances for him. He showed impressive passing on the field and attempted to link the attacker with the defenders. However, he failed to show enough coordination with his team-mates. He also
scored three times in the loss.
Melissa Ganzi: 4.5/10
He was not comfortable on defence although he was beaten for pace on many occasions. He could not deliver either on defence or the offence.
Juan Bollini: 3.5/10
He was very active at the horseback but struggled without the ball. He could be called unlucky to block the opposite strikes but his stick failed to touch the ball.
