what is the highest level of rugby played in the u.s.. is it paid? where is it? details please

The highest level of rugby in the US is either in the USA Rugby Super League, or through the NA4 competition, or both.  USA RSL is sponsored nationally by Michelob Amberbock, and most, if not all teams, have local sponsors.  NA4 are rep sides for East and West US and Canada.  Pay is not very high, if there is any.  There are RSL teams in about 17 US cities, and more detailed info can be found through www.usarugby.org.  Some players, through these organizations can be and are scouted for European clubs, and players can be picked for overseas teams, (i.e Mike MacDonald, Mike Hercus, and some budding interest in Takudzwa Ngwenya, the winger who totally scorched Brian Habana for a try during the world cup.)  US rugby is a largely grass roots thing at the moment, but it is growing.
