United States’ Y-14 girls conquer three medals on final day of 2011 Pan American Youth Championships
The United States female fencers did not show extra-ordinary performance on the last day of the 2011 Pan American Youth Championships. US girls were successful in grabbing three medals, including two silver medals and one bronze medal. No gold medal was
taken by the US girls on final day.
The final day of Youth Championship featured Y-14 category events in Epee, Sabre and Foil in both male and female, on May 31. Madeline Antekeier and Madeline Curzon, both were the US female fencer, who could win the silver medal of Y-14 Epee and Sabre events,
respectively. While, Xiao-Qing Tsai of US took home the bronze medal in Girls’ Y-14 Foil event. All the gold medals were taken by the Mexican female fencers on final day.
In Y-10 events, on May 29, The US girls captured five medals including one gold medal. On May 30, the US Y-12 female fencers amazingly took seven medals including two gold medals. But no gold medal was taken by the US girls on the final day. Similarly, US
boys captured nine medals including all three gold medal, two silver and four bronze medals during Y-10 competitions. They achieved five medals including one gold medal, one silver and three bronze medals during Y-12 events. But they also could get only four
medals including one gold, one silver and two bronze medals.
