Question:

United States college student looking to work in Ireland. Do I need a Work Permit?

I have been working with a company in Ireland through my uncle and his brother-in-law to set up a co-op / internship next fall in Ireland. It is through my uncle's brother-in-law's company and he said that there is for sure a job waiting for me.

The only problem is I can't seem to figure out all the details on what authorization I need in order to make it work. I will only be there about 4 months making around 500 euro / week. I have my passport and was starting to go through filling out a Visa application when I saw it asking for a work permit / green card number which I don't have yet. Is a work permit really required for my situation to work over there? I have been looking all over to find the answer but keep coming up blank.

Any answers, suggestions or help in general would be much appreciated. Thank you.
