I wasn't really interested in American politics in 2004. Am I mistaking it seemed like most people were supporting John Kerry but he lost?

I'm trying to guess who's going to win this time, that's why I'm asking.

  1. If "most people" supported Kerry, he wouldn't have lost.  The libs like to claim "fraud" and "stolen election", but it simply wasn't true.

  2. You have to realize, if you are new to this, that politics in the U.S. are very party divided.  Also , it has been shown that Republicans will always vote party over country.  That is what happened in 2004.  Republicans also get their information from people like Hannity and Limbaugh.  Even though Omaba has pledged on national t.v. that 95% of Americans will get a tax cut, Republicans still do not believe it.

  3. In 04, as today, the MSM is full-bore behind the Democrat and that's what you hear. The media dont represent the majority of American voters.

  4. A lot more people didn't have a choice, or at least felt that way at that point. We were at war and many felt it was no good to change leaders when that leaders plans have already been started.

So when the not so colorful and frankly boring John Kerry got the nomination, many democrats seemed to lose their hope. Some of the brightest thinkers that were far left chose Bush over Kerry because of the possible severity of consequences.

The way I look at it all of the bad we went through caused this election to be so exciting, so passionate, and filled with devotion. I have never seen so many people excited about hope for America. I just wish that whoever secures the final nomination, the other half does not lose that hope.

  5. Maybe most of the people you know supported Kerry.  Very few of the people I know supported him.  It has a lot to do with who you know and the kind of work you do.  If you are a union worker, you are around people who support democrats.  If you work as an accountant, engineer or attorney, you are more likely to be around people who support republicans.

  6. Kerry never had more than a 3 point lead over Bush, and didn't get a convention bounce, and never led in the electoral map Projections.

Obama now has an 8 lead over McCain, got a convention bounce, and is leading in all electoral map projections.

    Hope that helps.
