The Reds are reportedly looking to sign Frank Lampard and Ashley Cole, with the veterans not being offered a new contract by the Londoners despite their current deal running out in the summer.
Despite his influential brace on the weekend, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Frank-Lampard-c14097 could still be set for a Stamford Bridge departure as he winds down his career with the Blues.
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 International has been lauded as one of the best midfielders of his generation and although he managed to retain his abilities in the twilight of his career, it seems that the club, whom he has served tirelessly for the past decade or so, is
determined to offload him.
Juan Mata, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Eden-Hazard-c11863 are seen as the new leaders at the helm, with Lampard being sidelined for most of the term.
Sir http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Ferguson has been an admirer of the midfielder for quite some time and will be l*****g his fingers at the prospect of signing the Three Lions’ star, who would be a welcome addition at Old Trafford.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ashley-Cole-c6809 is also set to suffer the same fate and despite being rate as one of the world’s best left-backs could be allowed to leave when his contract expires.
Fergie has made no secret of strengthening his woeful defence and Cole could be just the injection of quality United’s defence need right now.
While a potential move could arise during the summer, Ferguson remained coy about a potential transfer this month, claiming that no deals were in place and there were no plans to splash the cash either.
“I am not looking to do any serious transfer business in January, I don’t have to because I am more than satisfied with the players I have in my squad, a group as good as any I have had in my time at Old Trafford,” said the long-serving manager while talking
to United’s review Magazine.
“Don’t hold your breath waiting for Manchester United to jump through the transfer window when it opens next week! It’s been open season to link us with a stack of players, admittedly some very good ones, but it just isn’t going to happen,” Ferguson was
quoted as saying.
