The Manchester giants are reportedly looking to part ways with the Brazilian midfielder, who has struggled to impose himself in the Premier League despite being given five years time.
A lot was expected when Anderson arrived at Old Trafford from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Porto-c39186 in 2007, especially with the play-makers displays in the Portuguese Primeira Liga.
His attacking verve and tenacity were expected to mirror that of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Paul-Scholes-c29394, but in reality the Selecao star has never come close to matching the United legend.
A lack of game time and consistent injury problems have derailed his career in the Premier League and with Sir http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Shinji-Kagawa-c33364 and Nick Powell this summer, his chances of making an impact have decreased even more.
While he started last August on a high, Anderson eventually succumbed to his usual physical problems and was sidelined for the most part of the season as the Red Devils lost their crown to Manchester City in May.
The club are fed up with his nonchalant outings and Ferguson has also allegedly given his approval for the 24-year-old’s departure in the upcoming transfer window. The Scot has made no secret of his admiration for the player but seems to have been fed up
with him after some below-par performances.
“He hasn't really realised his potential, which is there for all to see. He is a fantastic footballer. I just hope he doesn't have the bad luck that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-Owen-c25355 has had throughout his career.”
A top United source has also revealed that the coach’s plan, but things are unlikely to get moving before January.
“Fergie has been waiting for Anderson to burst into life but it just doesn’t look like it’s going to happen because he's not got back on track since his cruciate knee ligament injury in 2010. He’s definitely considered available for the right offer, but
a young player on a long contract won’t be sold on the cheap,” added the source.
Fergie may be looking to part ways with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Anderson-c5565, but will call on his services as the Reds prepare to welcome Wigan Athletic.
United lost their last game against the Latics in April and will be looking to secure three points after a nervy win over Southampton in their last game.
