United to make shock bid for Liverpool's Reina
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has reportedly been given a transfer budget somewhere in the region of fifty million pounds, to sign players next season. Sir Alex has gone ahead and stated that his primary objective is to land a new keeper to
replace Edwin Van Der Sar, who is looking more then ready to hang up his gloves at the end of the season.
The United boss is however looking to land a player that no one thought would even be an option for the manager. That player is none other than http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Pepe-Reina-c29672. The Spaniard has by far been the stand out player in the Liverpool team
over the course of the last few seasons. The keeper has been ever present and has gone ahead and proven to be one of the best shot stoppers in the league. Even this season with Liverpool’s patchy form, Reina has been outstanding in goal.
However Liverpool and Manchester United have one of the fiercest rivalries in the history of English football, and the fact that Ferguson is planning a move for a player is nothing short of being a shocker. Nonetheless the United manager is looking to strengthen
his team, and help build strong united for the future and is willing to look beyond the team's petty differences in order to do so. It has been reported that Ferguson is looking to spend as much as twenty million pounds on the keeper, and is willing to go
even higher to seal the deal.
However Ferguson, who is a strong believer in not putting all your eggs in one basket, is also keeping close tabs on an alternative for Reina. The other player who the manager is also tracking is long-term United target http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-de-Gea-c10463. Atletico keeper De Gea
who is still a teenager, can prove to be one of the best keepers in the world in the long run, and that is something that Ferguson is taking into consideration.
It will now be a wait until the end of the season, to see which Spanish goalkeeper, the manager finally decides to sign.
