The former Red Devils’ skipper claims that the club will revamp the squad this summer even if they win the Premier League this season.
Sir Alex Ferguson’s men go into Monday night’s much awaited derby knowing that a win at the Etihad will secure the title for them.
Having been dominant since the turn of the year, the reigning champions amassed an 8-point difference at the top of the table by early April and the trophy looked set to remain at Old Trafford.
However a decline in form coupled with lackluster performances has cut their lead from 8 to 3 points going into the game against their cross-town rivals, and it is something which http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roberto-c31294 Mancini’s troops will be keen to exploit.
The Citizens will go level with United if they manage to secure victory at home but given their superior goal difference, it could hand them the English crown after 44 years of waiting.
While Fergie’s team have been battling hard all season long, cracks have appeared in the side and the Scot is sure to bring some new faces into the first team fold before the next campaign.
Former Reds’ captain Bryan http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robson-c31388 has agreed with this notion but claimed that the club will sign players regardless of who wins the Premier League.
"The one thing Sir Alex will do, whether he wins the title or not, is to build in the summer. He will do that to try and compete and get back above, or to stay in front of City, depending on what happens during the next three games,” he said.
"They've got a great squad while Sir http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 has brought a few kids through and had a lot of injuries to contend with this season. It will be a great achievement if United win the title this season. It will give Sir Alex great satisfaction.”
Lastly, he also added that winning the title was going to be unfamiliar territory for and they will be rewarded according to their response.
"It will be a new experience for City and depends on how they adapt to it.”
The upcoming Manchester derby is going to be one to savour, as it will surely determine where the Premiership heads towards.
