  2. I believe the unit is called a Therm.

    I don't recall specifically, but I think it might be either 1,000 or 10,000 Btu's (British Thermal Units).

  3. the unit of heat is Btu. probably you are talking about large quantity of heat which they have a prefixed Tera (T)

    1 TBtu = 10 ^ 12 Btu

    for comparing the fuel consumption in residential we used $ / MBtu and for gas consumption it is $5.24 / MBtu.

    1 MBtu = 10 ^ 6 Btu
