  1. it is not good...look at european models of it...it is inefficient

  2. Wrong because universal health care just gives the least quality to the most people.

  3. Maybe not Universal Heath Care, but I do think something has to be done about the insurance companies in the US.  They are the reason that many people can't afford the healthcare.  Some things are better when strictly regulated.  We could get some ideas from other countries that could definitly be effective here.  For many in the US it is easier to die than it is to get proper healthcare.  And for many of those it has nothing to do with poverty but has much to do with the terrible insurance companies that are in the US.

  4. Look to those foreign countries who are changing their ways away from their "universal health care".  It does not work years down the road.

  5. Health care is not a luxury. Universal Health care plan encompasses a wide variety of different ideas; it could involve government-controlled healthcare, government-funded healthcare, or, as proposed by some of our most prominent democrats, a health insurance program that would put health care easily within budget for all Americans, without necessarily making it mandatory. To me, the means are not so important as the end result; proper medical care should not be out of reach for any man, woman, or child in this nation.

  6. The answer is not that simple.  We like to profess that we are a nation with JudeoChristian ideals.  Those ideals teach us that we should help the hungry, homeless, visit prisoners, etc etc.  In a nation of great wealth such as ours it would seem to be a mandate.  We can not act as Dives who would not even give to the starving the crumbs that his dogs left.  Most European nations who are not as wealthy as we, have a health care program.  I do not believe that we should have a full health care immediately.  We should take it on in slow small steps.  We would learn about the problems with such a system as we go.

  7. No, we shouldn't.  It would cost massive amounts of federal money & be controlled by the government.

  8. Wrong

The US can't afford to support everyone. This would bankrupt America. The government needs to do away with programs like medicaid and medicare and make people take more responsibility for their own care.

We need to do away with free school lunch, welfare, foodstamps, WICC, and make SSA private.
