  1. where is your community college now, what state is it in?

  2. Where do you hope to go to university? Close to home, or do you want to go further away? How are your cc grades?

Most state universities offer biochem and chem as majors, and those programs tend to be of good quality. Depending on your grades, you could also get into some very strong programs in these fields, but again, those at the best state university in your home state are likely fine, and if they have a pre-med advisor, that will also be of benefit to you as you prepare for med school.

The best biochem programs in the US include those at U Cal Berkeley, MIT, Harvard, Stanford, U Cal San Francisco, U Wisconsin Madison, Cal Tech, U Cal San Diego, and Yale. In chemistry itself, the best include many of the schools above, and I'd also add U Illinois Urbana Champaign, Cornell, Northwestern, UCLA, U Chicago, U Texas Austin and Penn State to the list.
