  1. Cornell State School (Ithaca) has a veterinary program, but that's graduate school.  You have to complete a pre-vet program first at a 4-year college.  Vet School is VERY competitive, even more so than medical school, so you have to have top grades in rigorous courses, and do very well on the entrance exams.  If you mean veterinary technician or related type program, that'could either be a 2-year or 4-year program.  I think Cornell has that as well.

  2. Vet school is a graduate program, so you need to get a BS before you can apply

Cornell University is the only Vet school in NY.

There are only 28 Vet schools in the US.  They have residency requirements, usually only having a few seats available for people living out side the state of the school (or a state they have a contract with).  If you live in NY, then it is likely that Cornell is the only school that will give you serious consideration.

Vet school is the single hardest graduate program to get into.  Since Cornell is considered the best of the Vet Schools -- and is in the Ivy League, it is especially hard to get into.  You will have to do spectacularly well in your community college, transfer to a good school, do spectacularly well there and get a high score on the entrance exam.

The following link will give you more information about what is required to get into Vet school.
