Hi!

I am an italian 16years old girl who loves your country! I'd love to go to an English University, but I still don't know which one. I was thinking of the University in Liverpool to study interior design. By the way, is it possible in England to live and to pay your University by working somewhere, such as a cafe, or does the University cost too much??

Please, give me as much information as you can, and also personal experiences!!

  1. As an EU student you can get a loan from the government to pay your fees (which are about £3000 a year). You don't start paying the loan back until you earn at least £15,000 a year. Here is the government website with more information: http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/EducationAnd...

Yes of course you can get a job to help you with your living costs.

We use a system called UCAS to apply to university in the UK. Take a look at the website: www.ucas.ac.uk

Most universities ask EU students to apply through UCAS too. If there's anything else you'd like to know, just ask.

  2. I'm at the University of Liverpool!! :-)

Great campus, friendly people, and pretty close to the city centre for shopping ect. You could get a job but it would do little to cover the cost of your course. I spend £3,000 tuition fees, £3000 rent, and £1,500 to live on and buy food ect. So that's about £7,500 or 9,508 Euros.

Look for accomodation early about a year before you arrive. I'm at in Septemeber: www.pierheadhousing.co.uk and with the year before I was at www.unite-students.co.uk. There are also halls you can stay at in the first year (www.liv.ac.uk/accomodation) which guarentee you a place and are a good idea for meeting new people and making some friends.

But if that's your dream don't let money get in the way.
