  1. I wish I would've had the experience of living on campus...you can't get that back.  Hopefully home will always be there.

  2. just take the transit, its fun and affordable!

  3. Live on campus.

It's closer to uni, you'll meet loads of new friends and have a laugh and you wont have to get up at about 5am every morning.

I'm commuting now and plan to move next year because its a pain in the ......

  4. It's a personal decision.  Living with the folks can be just like an extension of High School, missing out on the campus life and all that, but it's also, for many people, the only way to afford the school they want to go to.  You have to weigh the plusses and minuses and decide for yourself.  I wouldn't have given up the whole campus life thing for anything.  It was a huge part of the experience for me.

  5. move out... I've done the bussing thing and do you really want to spend 3 hours every day just traveling to and from your house?  That really screws up how much time you get to study on or off campus, how much time you get to spend with your friends, etc.  Plus, it tends to get really expensive after a while.

  6. Three hours travelling a day? That wouldn't be for me. Plus going to uni is really supposed to mark the end of childhood and the beginning of adulthood. You miss out on a huge chunk of that if you carry on living at home.

As an aside, Oxford University have a rule on how far from the centre of the city undergraduates are permitted to live - because they feel that further than that impacts negatively on their ability to cope as a student. What do you think they consider the maximum appropriate distance? Half an hour's travel? One hour's travel?

    Six miles.
