What would be the easiest way to get to our hotel on University Street in Downtown Montreal from Trudeau Airport?

Thank you for your help!

Kind regards from Switzerland

  1. Easiest would be a taxi, which should be about $30-$40 CAD.

If taking public transit, your best best would be to take one of the public buses (blue and white) that's very near the arrivals gate (ask any airport official there; they're very helpful). If I remember correctly, it's #201 or #211. This will take you to Lionel-Groulx métro station, where you can then hop on and go to McGill Station (University St.) Alternatively, you could try to take the commuter train into downtown--it's faster--but your timing would have to be just right; the bus is more frequent.

    HTH, and have fun!

  2. Have you checked with the hotel to see if they have a shuttlebus service from Dorval-Trudeau Airport?

I suspect you may be staying at the Delta on University Street? If so, I do not believe they have a shuttle, but you can certainly call or email them.

If they do not, the airport does have a shuttlebus to certain hotels and central locations. You can check the websites listed below for more info.

I would not recommend the VIA train and bus service, just because after a long flight from Switzerland, do you really want to cart your luggage around on public transit and wait on a platform for the bus or train? I would not. I would take the nearest taxi and pay the $40 to get me there quick so I can take a shower and lie down or get a nice meal.

    ;-)
