I could sell my laptop to pay for classes at a junior college. The anxiety is getting overwhelming.

University to community college is what i want to do.

  1. Cheaper too.

Though I read somewhere that how much you make depends on the school you attend. Do your time at community college (if thats best for you) then transfer to a good school.

  2. Do what you want. I suggest you to go to a community college close to where your from then when your ready transfer to an university close to where your from. good luck!

  3. Do what you think will be better for your career in the future.

  4. Actually, I am from Los Angeles, too. And I have a brother who is attending ASU. He is starting his Third year now. He tells me it was a pain his first year, being a minority and all, but he got through it by meeting a couple friends. He said it was hard at first, too. He would try coming home as much as he could. Now, he likes it over there. Of course, There is no place like home, cant fight you there.

I hope i'm giving you the best advice. maybe an inspirational story lol.

As far as transferring to a Junior college goes. I think you should stay away from them. Not saying its a bad place, just that you are better off at a university. The reason i say this is the following:

-Schedules/Classes- example... A math course (5 units) at a community college will have you attending class four days of the week for no less than an hour every session. At a university, the same class will be three days a week (MWF) for about an hour each session.

-Professors- your paying $20,000+ at ASU. you better have good teachers. enough said about that.

-Social Life- somewhere between all that reading and studying is a social college life only found there! Community college is like going back to high school except you cant even talk in class. As far as meeting people after class, forget it. AND, dont forget ASU is one of the top party schools ;]. it must be impossible not to make friends there.

-Parents- this would be my personal reason, and im sure some of you can relate. Yea, you miss them. Yes, they cook for you. Allowance? maybe. But being 18, 19, 20 years old at home trying to study can be difficult. Your best off in a studious environment.

well i hope this helps Aaron. and i hope you make the right decision. I also hope this is not my brother Raul disguised as "Aaron". LOL JK

    good luck man

  5. WOW !! amazing i'm in the same situation at kentucky state university I hate it here and I don't think it's just being home sick for me, i'm covinced they're teaching standards are lower than my high schools lol(i;m serious) I cancelled my loan while I still had the chance and will be on my way 2 home sweet home tommorrow, don't let people make you feel bad, let them throw away the thousands of dollars at a university you hate for you, community college is much cheaper not to mention aa possible refund!!!! well hope i helped good luck!!!
