  1. Sorry but you are going to need to do the Graduate Diploma in Law in England for a year and then go on to do your BVC in England. The unfair thing its easier to convert from English Law to Scottish rather then the other way round. English - Scottish involves a series of exams in Edinburgh, where as Scottish - English involves a whole years course in England.

  2. I wouldn't have thought so, unless you were doing a course specifically in English Law, though I don't know if they have such courses here in Scotland.

  3. To do the BVC you need to have a qualifying law degree comprising the seven Foundations of Legal Knowledge (Contract, Tort, Criminal, Equity, EU, Land, Public) which come as standard on all LLB courses at any good English university.

From what I can gather, LLB at Scottish unis rarely qualifies unless you do an "LLB English Law" at Dundee or somewhere. Look at the 'Qualifying Law Degree List' on http://www.barstandardsboard.rroom.net/q...

Contact SBehr@BarStandardsBoard.org.uk to find out about exemptions that might be available to you with a Scottish law degree.
