University course start dates. UK?

Question

Just wondered if all university courses started at the same time or if start dates vary depending on the faculties?

Basically im 17 and really unlucky that my birthday falls on the last day of the academic year (31st August) and my first day of university starts sometime in september. All my friends are 18 already and we are wanting to go down to newquay for a holiday before uni starts.It will have to be sometime in early september due to my age and don't want any hassel with i.d (this is the problem).

I've looked on the uni website and in my prospectus and it does'nt say. Im going to sheffield hallam uni to do criminology and history just in case any one knows the start date.

If anyone can help, its much appreciated.

I don't know the exact start date for that course but some courses can start as late as January. Most criminology courses start in October, but you might have to phone up and check, would be my best advice.

The university starts on the same date regardless of course.  It's usually some time around mid september, some of my friends go there and they leave around then.

Just phone them up, they will be more than willing to help, the phone number is on the website
