Hello,

I was wondering if anybody knew of a university that offers photography thats situated near open spaces/fields/forests etc

I've lived in greater london all my life and I want to find a new experience in the enviroment Im living.

I've looked at Brighton as it';s near to the sea as well as Falmouth university but are there any others that would be good to apply to?

Thanks

  1. Try University of Hertfordshire.  They have two campus - one in Hatfield and one outside of Watford - just off the A41.  The Watford campus - Wall Hall - formerly a teachers' training college - is surrounded by open countryside and fields, nice setting, but also close access to A41 and M1.  Good luck with your hunting, and your course.

  2. University of Kent at Canterbury?

  3. I'd try University of Kent near Canterbury.  Although on the edge of the city, it has loads of ground - including bluebell woods, lakes and wonderful views over Canterbury and the cathedral.  Check out their website and see if they do anything like photography. It is also only a 20 minute bus ride to Whitstable which is fantastic for photography (and the beach is bearable too!) You can also easily get to Dover and across the chanel or access to the chanel tunnel.  Only about 80 minutes to London as well!

It is also surrounded by countryside and although a city, Canterbury is small and has some wonderful medieval buildings which are a photographer's delight.  Give it a go.
