I am an American and I am VERY interested in going to the University of Birmingham but I was wondering how hard it is to get in there? I heard its really like a good school and not too diffucult. Would I get in as of now I know its hard to tell but I am in my freshman year in high school and I have all A's except for 2 B's but I am taking an honors course which I have an A in. Am I on the right track? Also how much is it to go there for Business and Marketing??? My budget is around the 30, 000 mark. Anyway THANKS!

  1. You should contact them directly. The fees we pay in the UK are completely different to the fees you guts pay as an International Student. Also our entry system is built on a points program now. (dont ask me how it works, I dont get it at all)

Birmingham is a great city to live in though, and I have heard lots of great things from people I know who have been.

  2. It really depends what course you are doing. Go to the UCAS website (ucas.co.uk) and do a course search for the sort of courses you want to do. Business Management is typically offered at a 'A-Level' (english qualification) of AAB or ABB. I dont know how that converts to American qualifications but about 25% of A Level grades are A if that helps.

International fees for non-lab courses (for programmes not involving significant laboratory or workshop-based activity) £9,450 in 08/09 (only increasing in subsequent years with inflation)

Laboratory course fees (for programmes involving significant laboratory or workshop-based activities) £12,250 (again only going to go up with inflation)

I think it would count as a non-lab course but i dont know how much the uni would use computer labs for the course. you will have to contact the uni (+44 121 414 6225).

Of course that doesnt include living costs are around £10,000 a year - tho of course you can get a job to pay for some of that.

This is the business school website http://www.business.bham.ac.uk/

    Hope that helps
