I am so confused. I want to go to the University of Maryland and major in journalism. If I do this will I be going to the University of Maryland? I ask because when I go to the journalism section of their website it talks about "Philip Merrill" And has pictures of people from like china or something. To get this degree will I still be in Maryland. And Is the actual Univesity located in Baltimore?

  1. If you attend The Phillip Merrill College of Journalism you will still be apart of the University of Maryland.

Those pictures you are referring to are news stories and as a potential journalism major you should have notice that little fact. The story is about the international reporting class' visit to Vietnam.

The Phillip Merrill College of Journalism is not located in Baltimore but actually about 45 minutes south west, in a city called College Park, just outside of Washington.

  2. I live in Maryland and answer the question the best I know how.  The University of Maryland has several campus around the state, that are all paort of what they call the University system.  There is the University of Maryland at College Park; the University of Maryland, Eastern Shore; University of Maryland Baltimore Campus; and several others.  If you are still confused contact the school directly, they will be happy to answer your questions.
