University of South Florida volleyball team releases schedule for 2011 season
The University of South Florida volleyball team has recently released its schedule for their 2011 season. They have an exciting line up of matches all set to give the Bulls the required momentum to take them past their previous high.
In all, the Bulls are set to play a total of 28 matches which include a healthy mix of both non-conference as well as league game. Their road session this season will lead them to face three National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) teams and several
others with good standings in the national rankings.
The head coach of the Bulls, Claire Lessinger, made the following comments about the schedule after it was released: "We are excited about the 2011 schedule. As always, we are looking to challenge ourselves outside of our conference season with good RPI
teams. Getting the opportunity to play at New Mexico and Wisconsin will be an awesome experience for this squad, and our home schedule is equally as exciting as we always look forward to our home environment.”
The start of the season for the Bulls will take place with a trip to New Mexico. They will be taking on two teams, namely New Mexico and New Mexico State in the New Mexico Invitational. Right after that, the Bulls will be taking on four teams on home court.
The USF Invitational should provide the Bulls with an exciting mix of challenges as they take on Eastern Kentucky and Maryland Eastern Shore. The rivalry is intense between the teams and is highly anticipated by fans. Bowling Green and Bethune-Cookman, both
of whom are competitive rivals, will also be taking part in the same tournament.
The last of the non-conference tournaments that the Bulls will be taking part in is the Wisconsin Inn Tower Challenge after which the Bulls will begin their league matches by playing in the BIG EAST Play. The USF team will be playing in the league against
Syracuse, West Virginia, Georgetown and St. John’s among others. Some of the league matches are also scheduled to be played on home court. In all, the Bulls will be making an appearance in 13 home matches in the season, providing fans the chance to watch their
favourite volleyball team live.
