University of Southern California sweeps University of Hawaii men’s volleyball team on Saturday
The University of Southern California fell to the University of Hawaii men’s volleyball team in their home ground in Honolulu on Friday.
It was the second time during their entire season that the Trojans had suffered a defeat against any team and USC did not take it well. The Trojans came back with sleeved rolled up, all set to redeem themselves the next day.
By the time that the match between the two teams had reached its close, the Trojans had defeated Hawaii by winning three sets back-to-back.
The crowd that the thrilling match drew out on Saturday was much more than Friday’s. The spectator that filled the bleachers to watch the two teams contest in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation match on Saturday totalled to be 5,591- most of them Hawaii
fans.
When the night was out and the Trojans were savouring their moment of redemption and Hawaii was heading out of the courts disappointed at not making the weekend completely their own, the score board displayed final set scores that declared a USC win. The
Trojans had won the match by defeating Hawaii by the following set scores: 25-20, 28-26, 25-22.
With their recent win, the Trojans have been able to improve their overall season record further by bringing their total number of wins so far to the amount of 19. USC has been able to achieve this number against suffering a commendably low number of losses
that total to be two.
The MPSF statistics of the Trojans reflect an equally impressive record. USC have had wins that amount to be 18 in conference play. These victories have been tallied at the expense of suffering only two defeats. No wonder the Trojans are ranked as the number
one team in the nation.
As opposed to USC, the number eight ranking Warriors have now had nine losses in the MPSF. They have been dealt out these defeats against thirteen wins that Hawaii has been able to secure. The overall season record of the Warriors though not comparable to
that of the Trojans is still something to be proud of.

As soon as the first set of the match began, USC was able to take the lead at 8-6. They were able to extend their lead up to 14-9 without facing any significant challenge from Hawaii. As a result, the Trojans won the first set at 25-20.
