I'm going to be s sophomore in high school, and I'm taking 2 AP classes. My GPA last year (in my freshman year) was 3.7 - 3.8. I want to go to Harvard Medical School or UC Berkeley or UCLA when I graduate. Do you guys have any ideas what should I do to get in? Any requirements? I want to plan my future, that's all :)

Thanks a lot!!!

  1. As another poster said, you don't go straight to medical school. First you get into college and there, you'll have to take certain courses to be in the medical field.

Just do well in high school to get into a good college, then it'll be fulfilling requirements time.

In college, be prepared for a lot of labs. If you want to go straight into medical school after college, you will need to take your MCATs in junior year.

For a major, it technically doesn't matter as long as you take the required classes. However, a lot of my pre-med friends are majoring in biology, biochemistry, etc. etc. as they have to take a bunch of those courses.

    Good luck!

  2. Hi,

Well, you have to go to college, before you go to medical school. Continue doing well in school so you can get into a good college. Then, once you get into college, study, study, study! Harvard Medical is one of the best in the world. You need to be dedicated into becoming a doctor. That being said, you can if you try. There are a lot of other great medical schools, so don't just be stuck on those three, in case you don't get in.

    Good luck!
