University/ucas/offer confusions please help!!!!

ok so back in april i went to a interview at university where i was told ..

i have an unconditional place providing that i score PPP on the course i was on at the time. (i was given a slip confirming the place offered with details)

right so a days later i logged in to UCAS and put firm acceptance on that place. around a week later i received a letter from UCAS saying that the place at the uni was conditional and that i had to get a scoring of 240 ucas points (which is MMM on the course i was on at the time) which was contrary to the original offer.

so in june after my FMP i recieved my grades which were MPP my tutor said i should contact the university to confirm the conditions of the place i spoke to a lady in admissions who was no help whatsoever saying she couldnt tell me whether MPP was enough to guarantee me a place in the uni and i should attempt to pull my grades up.

so in the last week of college i took on 3 extension projects and reworked some old projects managed to pull my grades up to MMM which meant my ucas points on the course came in total to 250 ucas points which should satisfy the second offer of 240 points.

well two weeks ago a friend of mine who has applied for the same course at the same uni who went to the same interview day as myself received a letter from the uni saying she was accepted onto the course.

basically ive received a letter about applying for halls of residence and a few junk emails from ucas but thats it im very worried now seeing as certicate day is in 4 days time

i do have a copy of the orignal "confirmation of place offer" slip from the original interview for some leverage or if it comes to it legal action just in case im just worried that either they've decided not to let me on the course or ..i dunno

i would really appreaciate any advice anyone can offer

x

  1. Hi there,

Firstly, congratulations on your grades, you should be proud of them.

Call the University and ask to be put through to the School Office for the school you have applied to e.g. the Law School, Arts & Social Sciences, School of Computing, whichever it may be. Speaking to the school will be able to give you an answer better than admissions can, since it's the school that makes the decisions. It sounds like you have the place already, so well done. But call to double check. I hope it all works out and wish you good luck for September.

  2. If they are sending you information about accommodation then youa re on the course.

But all the school / faculty at the uni to confirm if you are worried

  3. I would say that the best thing you could do in this situation is contact the university directly and ask whether they had made a decision on whether to let you onto the course or not.
