University vs college

i'm a grade12 student in high school. i wonder which one is better between university and college... because my parents expect me to enter the university, but i think college is more useful. i study in ca. there are two school i am thinking about: SFU and BCIT...so which one is better

  3. I hear that both of those schools are good ones. The only difference really between uni and college is that it all depends on your career choice. And colleges, you can upgrade your HS courses, if need be. Where's with uni, it is just straight up there to work. Which ever path you take, I think you will enjoy either one (School wise that is).

  4. I agree, the words "college" and "university" are generally interchangeable.

    Look at the degrees you want and find whichever offers them/it. That is the main way to decide.

  5. Do you actually know the difference?

    A university consists of two or more colleges. For example, Kansas State University has, among others, the College of Arts and Sciences, College of Engineering, etc.

    A four-year college will offer you the same degree as a university.
