Unkind weather likely to abandon more races this week
The chances of horse racing events this week look bleak, as the poor weather is likely to make things problematic at different venues.
Market Rasen and Sedgefield’s Tuesday cards have already been abandoned due to snow and frost. The two venues were scheduled to host many crucial competitions, and the horse racing fans would have been seriously disappointed with this news.
The weather also spoiled the party at Carlisle, Lingfield and Ludlow, as their Wednesday meetings have been called off. On February 8, only Kempton is expected to host a few competitions.

Following a snow fall couple of days ago, the conditions were not good enough at Kempton; however, the ground-staff has made the course race-able after their efforts.
The conditions at Doncaster are so poor that the officials have already decided to cancel Thursday’s card. Huntingdon will have to go through an inspection on Wednesday morning in order to prove itself fit for Thursday’s meetings.
So far, no problem is expected at Taunton and thus, the officials are hopeful that the scheduled races will take place according to plan. The management at Thurles and Wolverhampton is also expecting conditions to remain good for Thursday’s meeting.
At this point, the conditions at Musselburgh, Southwell and Wolverhampton are suitable for Friday’s card. However, it is a different story all together at Bangor and Kempton.  The two venues are currently untraceable, and the staff is working extremely
hard to improve the conditions there.
A few parts of the courses at Uttoxeter and Warwick are frozen. However, the authorities are not ready to lose their hopes so early, and have been working on making things better for Saturday’s meetings. On the other hand, no problem is anticipated
at Lingfield, Naas and Wolverhampton.
Newbury’s story is entirely different from the rest. Since January 31, the frost covers have been deployed to protect the course, and the weather is forecasted to get dryer and cooler as the week progresses.
This week’s many important cards have been cancelled. The tracks which are expected to host events are still in danger because the way the weather has been behaving these days, it is quite hard to confirm anything.
