Question:

Unknown bird feather???

While at the beach today I found a feather but i wasn't sure of which bird it belonged to. I automatically assumed it was a seagull since their so common in NE especially near the coast but the pattern on the feather is different than that of the gulls that I most commonly see at the beach everyday. Here are a few photos....

I think it might be an osprey though but i could be wrong :)

  1. Osprey feathers have banding but it is consistant throught the feather. see link 1

    Juvenile seagulls have a more mottled banding. see link 2

  3. It don't look like a seagull I don't know what kind of feather it is the only thing I can say is Google bird feathers it might have it there
